A "safe space" for young people between 14 and 21 years old in conditions of serious psycho-social distress. This is a fitting description for the "Children's Citadel", a multifunctional center structured into 3 areas (therapeutic clinic, parental school and professional workshops) which will be inaugurated on 20 September.

 

The Citadel will be opening its doors to guests of the day center it has set up at Casa Lazzati, a beautiful historic 19th century villa in San Vittore Olona, donated to the Minoprio Foundation, which in turn gave the "Piccolo Principe" association of Busto Arsizio the opportunity to implement the project through a twenty-year loan for free use.

The Citadel will help children and young adults suffering from behavioral disorders, mood disorders, and eating disorders, as well as suicide-related behaviour (suicide attempts and suicidal thoughts) and social withdrawal: all fragilities aggravated by the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown.
