MTA acquired a majority stake in EFI Technology

MTA, a multinational company operating in the development and production of a wide range of electrical and electronic products for the automotive market, acquired the majority stake in EFI Technology, an Italian company leader in the development and production of Powertrain Control Systems for both combustion and electric vehicles.

EFI Technology, based in Calderara di Reno (Bologna), was founded in the early 90s and has 85 employees and a turnover of around €30 million. Its product range also includes, in addition to powertrain control systems (the company’s core business), battery management systems (BMS), inverters, body computers and active suspension control systems, both for major Super Car brands and major two-wheeler manufacturers.

MTA, founded in Lodi in 1954, yields a turnover of €398 million and produces a wide portfolio of components for the primary manufacturers of cars, motorcycles, trucks, agricultural and earth moving machines.

With the acquisition of the majority stake of EFI Technology, MTA Group also adds new expertise, thus representing ever more a Solution Provider of innovative systems for global OE Manufacturers.

EFI Technology’ current shareholders will support the new shareholders, keeping a minority stake and their management and operational roles.
